Universal credit carer and pregnant

Hi wondering if anyone has any help or advice.

Me and my partner claim UC he is disabled (LCWRA) and I am his carer and claim carers allowance and not in employment. We also have 2 children.

Im currently pregnant and experiencing in December. I’m confused when I inform UC as me being pregnant doesn’t add anything as I’m currently exempt from working due to being a carer. So wondered if I wait until the baby is born.
I sent a message in my online journal asking for clarification and my case manager responded with

“ Hi You need to report a change > health and state you're pregnant from the date this occurred.Kind regards,James,Case Manager“

I’m confused as to what to write as the date as when it occurred as obviously I don’t know exactly. I received my MatB1 on 15/8/25 do I give the date on this as the date (I was 24 weeks) also the change of circumstance form online asks how it affects my ability to work ect… but I’m already exempt from work.
(I’ve also responded to my case manager with this question and waiting for a response)

Please any help would be appreciated as it’s so confusing and often feel that the staff from UC who respond aren’t fully clued up.

Hi @bengy85 from what I've seen, these are typically completed by the nurse or midwife as it requires particular validation (see 4.4 - Maternity certificate (form MAT B1) – guidance on completion - GOV.UK). Do you have an appointment with the midwife coming up that you could raise this?

hi thank you for replying, however I think you misunderstood what I wrote. I already have my MatB1 I received this on the 15/8/25

Sorry @bengy85, I had misunderstood that. So, I can't say for sure as I've not been through this process myself but it looks as though they're asking for the date on the document. It might be worth calling to confirm this though. Or hopefully 🤞, one of our members who's been through this might be able to help. I've marked this as "unanswered" which should flag it. Sorry I couldn't give a definitive answer.
