Hi
As your saying that bank acount will checked automatically but i did not understand your saying it will be an automatic system that only checks bank accounts in the present do you mean in the present bank acount transaction ? Thanks

We don't know, it is all conjecture at this point.

The most basic function is that it will check the balance in the present.
It will flag up any accounts with over £16,000 in them, as those should be closed for means tested benefits.
It will probably also flag up any accounts with over £6000 in them, for a human to check whether the claimant has declared the correct amount of savings between £6,000-£16,000.

I thought the context of them talking about linking PIP to UC was to descrease the number of people claiming PIP and not needing benefits, because a lot of people who are well off, ie own their own home, have expensive cars, regularly go away on holiday and use PIP for luxuries are still able to claim PIP and they have been talking about limiting PIP to those people by linking it to people who need to claim benefits for their health.

Hi
I have friend and he needs to know is it true from 1st of aprill 2026 is there double council for second property if there is tenant living? Thanks

Council tax is managed by their local council.
It is different in different areas.
In my area, council tax is already double for a second property.
Normally, the tenant would pay the council tax, rather than the owner.

Local Property Tax is in Ireland.
There will be a mansion tax for UK homes worth over 2 million pounds after the budget.

Why not bank abroad - or at least Guernsey ?
MP's do it - to avoid UK tax .. it's not illegal and UK snoopers do not have access to it.

It is sometimes illegal to bank abroad if it's deemed tax evasion. (People like Jimmy Carr found this out the hard way!)
Without sounding patronising, I don't think many means-tested benefits claimants would know how to legally go about storing money off-shore, or have enough spare to pay for good quality legal advice to ensure they aren't breaking any laws. I wouldn't know how to go about it myself.

Don't you mean TAX avoidance ?
Which is NOT illegal - You can bet that some MP's still do it themselves - it is still not illegal - just frowned upon - as being immoral

Problem is, the line between the two is so close that you need proper legal advice to get it right. Even the pro's still get it wrong sometimes.
