It would have been so much better @WhatThe , if you had found the forum back then

It would have been so much beneficial to you .

Part of me thinks with me only being Asd 1 that its not enough or maybe ive done wrong by asking for an assessment

    I dunno

This might be me just coming to terms with it

    Always grateful to you @WhatThe

    Thank you always

You are autistic, that's enough for a late-diagnosed woman!

    Never mind the level.

One day people will be assessed for both conditions at the same time - that will reduce waiting times won't it?

My GP agreed immediately to an ADHD referral for me but I only cottoned on to the possibility that I also had this because of Albus. I thought it was about boys unable to sit still but there are different types.

Drink plenty of water tonight. Well done Strawberry, you did it!

Yes being Assessed for both at the same time would be a brilliant idea @WhatThe

Well Im glad your gp agreed to the adhd assessment

Glad you found it helpful with the help from Albus

I know i asked Albus a few questions myself

Well i wasnt sure what was going to be asked

I answered the questions the best i could .

I have said many times strength in numbers

    I think its true

    Thanks for your support

    Forever grateful

    Take care

    Best wishes always

Exactly, we don't know what we'll be asked. I remember your autism/depression thread and learned so much from it. We don't discuss it much on the forum these days.

I must have got side tracked @WhatThe

    Id forgotten about that

I know im still gonna clash with certain people within my family unit

    Not told them all yet

But all the questions asked i answered and at the end of it he said yes you have ASD 1

Yeah, it'll be hard to think about anything else for some time, Strawberry. Be prepared for them not to understand or change their behaviour. Your new diagnosis may only be important to you and that's a hard pill to swallow.

Glad to hear you seem to be okay @Strawberry1 😊

It makes sense that it is still sinking in, it is a lot to take in.

    Phew, the wait is over!

I remember feeling bereft, exhausted and angry that I'd struggled for so long to make myself understood and be believed. Rest, rest and rest for as long as you need to. This is a massive achievement, Strawberry and I was sure you'd get your diagnosis confirmed!

Autism can't be faked and no-one would choose to be autistic. We're not a little bit autistic, we are autistic and the 'levels' are not relevant at our age, ok?

Happy Friday and lots of love from your friends here

    ❤️
