How is your day going?

After another difficult night trying to sleep i finally nodded off on my recliner chair for 4hrs which was fantastic. On waking up i spent the next hour washing my face, brushing my teeth, and trying to make a hot drink. Now reading through the various topics here on the brilliant Scope forums. Weather outside looks wet and miserable but rain means wildlife have access to drinks which makes me happy because during the hot summer months i get so stressed thinking maybe wildlife can't find water. What i'd like to do next is watch Match of The Day on the BBC iPlayer but i can't remember my password.

I am with people. At least I can spend part of the day with people. I will be back home at 4 pm. Maybe a bit earlier. Weather is depressing, at least it is not raining..

Hi everyone.
This probably isn't the right place for this but I have a cuppa and I know the online community will help me feel calmer.
I have a friend I've known for almost our whole lives but we don't communicate much (we don't live nearby). Now we're both retired we've picked up again and it is lovely.
However, I just discovered that her husband had a BP of 205/107 and I know that's very serious (I've been in that boat). The GP isn't treating it with any urgency at all. I've written and suggested she doesn't something about it immediately.
I'm feeling sort of unkind for dropping a bombshell on them but I'd never have forgiven myself if something happened to him and I kept quiet. I introduced them and they've been married 40+ years. I'd rather lose their friendship than him lose his life from a stroke or heart attack.
I just feel a bit up in the air.

I'm not a medical person but that does sound high @Delphi. No wonder you're feeling a bit shaken up. Even though it might make them feel worried about it, it shows how much you care about your friends that you'd flag it to them.
Has the GP put him on anything to help bring it down? I hope he's able to get it under control soon and that things calm down.

I have asked a retired nurse and that blood pressure is too high. Needs to go to.a doctor asap.. it is very dangerous.. it is borderline a stroke.

I am tired from lack of sleep and its very cold here today so I stayed in again but I am so bored.

Resting is boring sometimes, isn't it @luvpink. I often find people say to me "oh, it must be nice to stay in all day and rest", but no, very boring if you're forced to do it. Lots of other things I'd rather be doing! Hope you're feeling more up to things soon.
That's a long walk @onmylonesome, very impressive! Do you set yourself a target for how far you want to walk or how many steps you'll take? Or do you just head off and see where you end up?
Ooh @michael57, I missed this. Did you win £5,000?! Congratulations if you did!

I have a few set walks that I do but for the last week I have been struggling with a sore left calf which has now improved, so this morning I set off on one of my usual walks and was feeling good so decided to extend it.

Sounds brilliant @onmylonesome, must keep you fit! Always nice to get out and about ☺️
