Am I in the Right Universal Credit group
Hello,
I’m currently on Universal Credit in the Limited Capability for Work (LCW) group and I’m looking for advice on whether this is the right group for me.
I have lifelong learning difficulties, cerebral atrophy and epilepsy. These cause memory problems, confusion, fatigue, coordination issues and difficulty doing tasks reliably. I often need reminders and still get things mixed up.
I’ve tried work experience in the past and it didn’t go well despite support. I now do a small amount of volunteering in a very supported role, but mistakes aren’t treated seriously because it’s voluntary. In paid work, I believe these difficulties would lead to warnings or dismissal.
I'm worried too if I get moved to LCWRW they will treat it as a new claim and I would be on the new rate from April.
I agreed to my UC commitments in good faith, but I’m finding they don’t reflect what I can realistically manage. I’d really appreciate advice on LCW vs LCWRA, reassessment, and how this usually works for people with long-term conditions.
Thank you for reading.
