hi my son has ASD, non verbal aged 5. Was due to start school sept 25 but due to no EHCP he stayed in nursery till he turned 5 in December. He now has his EHCP waiting to go to panel for a place at a special school. In the meantime they want me to send him to mainstream (this isn’t suitable and I am fighting this) but in the meantime I feel like he has just been pushed to one side. There is no therapy in place whatsoever. I’m asking is this normal? Does all this start up again when he starts school or has something been missed? He got discharged from paediatrics in July 25. I have recently asked for a referral back due to sleep issues. Any advice is much appreciated. Thankyou

Hi @lilniccnicc and a warm welcome to the community from me!

Thank you for telling us a bit about your situation. It is good that then ball is rolling with EHCP! Hopefully you won't have to wait to long to hear back about the sleep referral.

Was any therapy specifically mentioned in the EHCP? Or has there been talk of referrals for certain therapy such as speech and language and/or occupational therapy?
