You've been waiting a very long time @Poppy030401, like Luvpink said it's definitely best to ring them and see what has happened

Its the only way to find out unless you write to them asking for an explanation and hope they may respond.

This is disgusting even by the awful standards of the DWP IMO, I'd contact your MP.

The only way to get an update is to ring them or wait for a decision letter.

Sorry but there's not much else I can add other than what advice has already been suggested for you.

I can't say whether it is 'normal'.

The only thing you can do is either contact them (if you really can't ring them),

then write to them but this is your claim and you are going around in circles not getting anywhere.

this is true, just feel like if I contact them via post it will be like poking a hornets nest

    Of course it won't be.

You must have contacted them by post when you applied for benefits.

If you want to continue with your current claim, the only options are for you to either contact them or continue waiting for them to contact you.

I don't know what more advice anyone here can offer you when you are continually replying saying you can't or don't want to contact them.

thank you for your kind and understanding words 🙄 literally no need to be so rude is there… nobody forced you to answer, but if it made you feel better today by being cruel, I’m glad it helped

I have not been rude at all and especially not cruel either.

You asked for advise and I was nothing other than kind and patient in trying to help you.

Hi both, I can see things have got a little tense here. It can be difficult to capture tone through the written word sometimes and everyone has a different way of communicating. While misunderstandings or miscommunications can happen, most members are trying to be helpful and I'd like to hope that the intention here wasn't to deliberately cause anyone distress or be cruel. I think maybe the best thing to do would be to draw a line under things now and hopefully everyone can move on without anything escalating further.

I'm really sorry you're still having such a rough time with your PIP @Poppy030401. I remember reading your post a few months ago, you've been waiting an awfully long time for an answer and it must be a huge weight on your mind.

I know it must be pretty anxiety-inducing, but as luvpink mentioned, you wouldn't be poking a hornets nest if you wrote to them. If that's the best way you're able to communicate, it may be worth a try to see if they can finally wrap things up for you and let you know what's going on.

Another option might be to ask someone you trust to ring on your behalf, but I'd understand if that's not possible for you at the moment.

I hope you're able to bring things to a conclusion soon.

    @Poppy030401

I am not able to communicate using a phone due to my Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), the listening disability.

Due to Covid my PIP Tribunal Appeal was held online using Zoom.

I had sent Research Papers that explain my disability initially by post, and later before the zoom hearing a few more recent research papers by email.

I won the Appeal. And when I went on to Zoom I told the Judge that I had the sound turned off, and that we should communicate by typing in the Zoom "Chat Box".

The Judge typed that I had won my Appeal and asked a few questions, to which I typed a few replies,

The Doctor and Disability Advisor of the Appeal team did not contribute.
