Migrating to UC
it’s now the 2nd of April 2026 and I haven’t received any letters from the DWP that my income based ESA claim will need to be migrated to universal credit. Is this the current situation? Are they so far behind and was the original end date of March 2026 not relevant anymore?

I'm aware of the backlog and I'm not entirely sure if they're still aiming for most claimants to be migrated by April 2026. It may be that you're migrated later as not everyone will be moved over before April. I can understand it being frustrating not knowing.

You posted in March 2025 that you'd claimed UC.
Although your migration letter mentioned only Housing Benefit ending, once you applied your IR ESA also ended and was replaced by UC, and your CB ESA converted into New Style ESA.
When UC is applied for, all applicable legacy benefits end so if you were on 2 or 3 of those, they all ended.
