PIP Assessment form received, Complaint made
Hey :)
I just wanted to reach out and inform everyone on my experience which I’m extremely angry and upset about and I haven’t even had a decision made yet.
So Iv made a complaint to Maximus today regarding my assessment which was done last Monday 11th may 2026, the call it self which I recorded lasted exactly 30 minutes long and so many questions where missed out but I thought because I had submitted quite a lot of medical evidence as well as a diary it may be that it was just to clarify things.
From the first minute I knew the assessor was cold, un-empathetic and not interested in my answer's. I know they are back to back and have to deal with a lot of calls but the fact I have the recording and the comparison in to what’s wrote and points recommended is disgusting.
I only want to write my experience here to get it of my chest as I’m absolutely disgusting and so disheartened as to how a 30 minute call with somebody determines something that not just myself but many have had to wait months and years not only to have a diagnosis but to be given wrong and bad advice from so called professionals.
The first lie which I have my call log and recording says the assessment lasted 52 minutes when it was exactly 30 minutes and I mentioned this to the dwp the day after when I asked for my report and he said you will have to call Maximus.
Not only the fact it was only 30 minutes long how on earth can a judgement be made to determine your decision when we all know how long it takes for a diagnosis to be made for example my ADHD had to be over a course of weeks/months because of the change in symptoms and bipolar when you have manic or depressive symptoms these take a long time. So than to be told there opinion in a phone call is disgraceful and condescending.
The fact everything I said and have on recording is completely contradictory to the answers I gave, they also asked me if I mentioned I was recording I replied asking if they recorded which he said normally yes, I said well I was uninformed about this which I was.
I also have just logged onto my doctors app airmd and I have seen the day after my phone assessment they uploaded a letter received asking for medical evidence which is completely fine as I allowed this but a doctor who was not on my health professionals list to contact has filed this in with so little information about myself as I never see this doctor. And the fact the Dwp will pay the doctors £33.50 to write a response is utterly shocking.
It’s so frustrating to think how the system is but I have already wrote my MC letter going of the assessment that has been written.
If anyone has had similar experiences or if you have advice my ears are open.
Thanks 😊

Bear in mind the DWP decision maker can go against the assessors report. It's not common, but does happen where the evidence is clearly contradictory. It's definitely worth waiting for the decision before finalising the MR letter.

Hi @summer19 and a warm welcome to the community from me!
Sorry to hear about your experience with the PIP assessment. It sounds like it was a very stressful experience so I understand why you complained.0
