Heat wave
Hi
Is everyone enjoying the hot weather, ๐ฅ I personally don't mind it but it's just the night time when you just can't get to sleep so thought I would see if anyone else feels the same.

It's horrible at night time. Cooling down by the weekend

Gus is still too hot, and we haven't had the temperatures like down south.
He has eaten 500g of chicken, with bone and offal, plus a whole turkey neck, so he isn't as worn out as he looks.

24.6 in my kitchen already.

I'd like to move where ever you are! I really don't enjoy the heat. It's up to 33 today here.

I feel like the nights are the worst part about this hot weather @comgas2! I'm looking forward for Friday when it gets back down to a sensible 21 degrees!
Those are very nice photos of Gus @ColonelBlink, his fur looks very healthy and shiny so it looks like all that food is doing him well๐0 -
It's 27 already in the Midlands, 24 inside my house. It was 33 yesterday. Too hot especially with breathing problems

It was definitely too hot last night, I couldn't sleep at all and I usually sleep like a Log, a literal Storm couldn't wake me up.
Consequently I got up around 8.20 in a FOUL mood.

By mid century ( for any of us still around), some climate models predict 40C as the norm in summer. Please form an orderly queue at the border! ๐

Phwoar!! Now that is extremely hot, way too hot for me!
Packing my bags as we speak @ColonelBlink ๐คฃ0 -
That was the night time temperature, I don't live in Nuuk you know!

The wet bulb temperature is 35C, with 100% humidity. A man will die then, even with shade and unlimited water. Some parts of the world are already there.
Anyone want to issue any new drilling licenses? Hard to keep positive, but we can't give up. ๐ณ

Just checked BBC weather, and Angus ( where i live) has 15C here right now.

28.1 in my kitchen now and it is in the shade in the afternoon. Too hot for me.

He had been brushed that afternoon, that makes all the difference. He doesn't mind the grooming mitt, compared to a brush.

Kernal Blink, I understood that with ice shelf melts shortening El Nino patterns we should expect colder temperatures, no? ๐ค

It's a cooking 34 degrees outside and a cool 30 degrees in here ๐

Climate models of course show a scenario dependant on the data it is given. Luckily we have climate scientists that can make better sense of it than me!
I have a book published by MIT climate scientists in 1972 (The Limits of Growth), we have wasted 50 years, and now big oil tell us it's too late, might as well just adapt? These oil barons have done this to us, all in the name of profit.
If the Thwaites Ice Shelf (The Doomsday Glacier), estimated to collapse in three or four hundred years, if it collapses, the world oceans stand to rise by a metre, destroying the majority of life on earth. It has lost hundreds of billions of tonnes since tthe 1980s.
It might sound preposterous, but I don't want my fellow travellers held up and damned by future generations. We can't sit on our hands and wait for some miraculous future technology to save us.
The tipping point may be now, yesterday, next year. I hope i live to see some serious solutions presented and acted upon.
