Hating it, hating it. Still 26 here after 32 earlier. Sunburnt because of my carbamazepine making me sun intolerant

and the worst thing of all, I left a choux bun out for half an hour and it's now a soggy mess 🀬

12 degrees my lord, sounds bliss

It's been glorious here over the bank holiday but awful when it came to sleeping. Monday night I didn't get even one hour sleep without it being broken but thankfully, a little cooler last night. Hope you're all sleeping ok and keeping cool as much as possible.

I went to my friends Sunday and she had a paddling pool out for her dog Narla and the dog she's looking after (Frank the sausage dog). Were they interested? Nope πŸ˜… Ended up having to carry them both in and sit with them but as soon as we plonked them down, they were straight out and back in their shady spot bless them.

Anybody else tried a paddling pool with their dog/s? If so, were you successful?

Nope. Was more ohhh a giant drinking bowl. But Ruudy hates a bath too. Unless the groomer is doing it, we've got videos of him sitting there, looking like … you've missed a bit human. All aloof

Strangely he will launch himself into any river and then it's a battle of wills to get him out

Temperature dropped to 25 with a lovely breeze. Still sweating but at least it's drying. … No bath need tonight 😁

I wish this hot weather would do one as it's far too hot for me as I have asthma and hot and cold weather usually triggers it.

Sometimes cigarette smoke does too as myself and my middle sister were diagnosed with asthma through passive smoking from our late dad.

I'm loving the warm weather because I am pain free unlike when its cold and I'm in agonony of pain day and night due to my health condition.

Unfortunately its forecast to turn cooler from tommorow.

We tend to have a lot of cold rain and wind here.

The weather has sort of broken here. A bit cooler. 7 hours of on off Thunder and Lightning and some pretty big downpours with a bit of hail to mix things up. Quite surreal.

More annoying was a certain someone filming for 18 minutes at 2 a.m 😐️

On the topic of dogs, water and heat, this is the cutest video!!

Last September, the awesome @Holly_Scope πŸ₯°posted about World Mental Health Day, which was on October 10, 2025. The theme was "Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies." I've been working on emergency preparedness since. One of the things I've done is Red Cross Zoom courses, including First Aid with the British Red Cross last year, and two with the Canadian Red Cross this year (one for planning for emergencies, and one for caring for self and others for emergencies).

This Monday, June 1, I'm doing the third emergency preparedness Zoom meeting with the Canadian Red Cross, which is preparing for heat waves. If you're interested, you can find this and other courses and register for free here:

I'm so pleased you're continuing with the emergency preparedness work. Thanks so much for sharing this for us all!

That's hot for inside @Wibbles! Or do you prefer it that way?

It feels like the country is cooling off a bit now so hopefully we're in for some relief over the next few days.

What heatwave? 14C here right now In my part of Angus. This is good Spring weather, glad it isn't like London etc.

Just turned up thermostat in hallway to check indoor temperature, and it clicked on at 22C.

It's incredible how different the weather is on such a relatively small island.

Still 30c indoors here today. ☹️

This island isn't quite as small as it looks on a map, I'm about 500 miles closer to the Equator than Angus.

I am at a more northerly latitude than Moscow, but never get winters like there! The Gulf Stream sees to that.
