No contact from DWP
I re-applied for PIP and sent them the "How your disability affects you" form back over 2 weeks ago now. I have had no correspondence from them to say they received the forms. The forms have to be in by Thursday 28th May so I'm worried I might have to restart the full process again if they have not been received on their end. What should I do?

Hi @sightsmash I would not worry too much. It can take at least two weeks for the DWP to log them.
Perhaps phone them on Tuesday to see if they have received them.

It's a Bank Holiday weekend so there's no post till at least Tuesday, give them a ring then.

Hi did you not send them by tracked post?
You say forms have to be in by 28/5 in which case they would only usually contact you before that date if they have not received them so there's nothing to worry about.

No, I just stuck it in the provided 2nd class envelope.

I called them today, they have not yet received the forms but have extended it until the 4th June. The woman I spoke with said it is quite common for it to take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month for it to log on their system.

Even tracked/signed for post can still go missing.

Yes but you would have proof of postage and if it was tracked, proof of a signature that it had been received.
I always photo copy mine before sending it for future reference.
Yes it can take a while for it to be loaded onto their system.
Goodness knows why that is.

I sent mine tracked and it was delivered into mail room next day..even so it then took a further 18 days to be scanned onto the system and 'received' by PIP staff, so it's not unusual to have a delay.. I hope you don't have to wait too much longer

Its over a year since I did my review form. They have backlogs of over a year. They are meant to confirm receipt of form though by email or text when they get it and every 2 months thereafter. I'd chase it up to make sure they have the form if you still haven't heard. Unfortunately you may have a long wait but make sure they got the form. Unfortunately its a marathon not a sprint, which is not fair when you are anxious to get it over with.

Just to update you, they have received the form and I have also had a text from them to say my case is with the health assessment people!

Never send letters to PIP without using Recorded Delivery. Not only do they get lost, but the DWP sometimes "lose" them on purpose to trip up claimants. This is why disability support sites like Benefits and Work always advise sending post via recorded delivery.
