RE … the hair … wish I had some to mop up the heat.

Head is bubbling, sweat running and then steaming up my glasses 😁

I'm trying to tidy my shed … it's 40 in there. Worse tomorrow apparently. Stay safe and hydrated folks … or as much as poosible OverlyAnxious … people never realise one size doesn't fit all

I've got both windows open in my room and I'm still melting.

I've decided not to go to Taekwondo tonight, even if I don't put as much effort in as I usually do, the sweating would probably kill both my hearing aids which would be a pain.

Why oh why did you choose today to tidy your shed? 🤭

According to my sources, tomorrow will cool down then Friday will flatten us again. Do only what's necessary and leave the rest!

I'm really struggling with it. Have to keep reminding myself that it will pass and is only temporary.

I know I know … but because it's an absolute tip. A can of expanding foam landing on my head was the final straw 😁Plus just balancing things means I've knocked spanners behind shelving … so being lazy has cost me a lot more time and effort aaarghh

Mid Wales is forecast to be the hottest day yet for us tomorrow with the extra killer of high humidity

I'll survive but seeing people walking dogs, is so infuriating … I can't touch the concrete slabs in my garden, so the risk of paw burn is high

I'm similar in terms of food and drink but have found ice cubes okay. They hurt my teeth (which are very sensitive) but those, and licking some ice lollies or ice pops while uncomfortable have been good at keeping my hydrated and feeling a bit better.

I found a wet tea towel over my neck weird at first but persisted and it has cooled me down as it dries.

Keep still as much as possible today. You made the right decision to not go tonight.

Rubin's strategy of keeping windows, curtains/blinds and doors closed is working for me here but that only works before the sun blasts heat through the windows.

Do you have a thermometer in your room?

@OverlyAnxious Hi, hope you’re okay today? Thanks for sharing and want to reassure you’re not coming across as awkward :)

It’s really difficult today, I hope you can be okay? I hope this passes soon

That sounds like it may be a little bit of hayfever combined with the humidity in the room. Are you able to completely open your windows at night? It would help.

I know they are an investment and the noise is pretty loud but if you're able to buy a portable air conditioner they really do help. I run mine for a while in my bedroom before I go in so it's a nice temperature and I can turn it off and get to sleep. Mine is a dehumidifier too which you can run alone or alongside the air cooling.

@Emilee Hi :) I am looking into this portable air conditioner you mentioned, I was afraid to buy at first as I was awaiting the outcome of PIP review so been really reluctant to spend any amounts of money. Thankfully my review is positive as of today so can look into investing in one thank-you for recommending. It’s a struggle today but I’m okay so far. I hope you’re okay today? How are you feeling? :)

Hello. How is everyone coping today?

I find humidity is the worst. Yesterday it got up to 74% in my room and I found it difficult to breathe. I have a dehumidifier, but that adds about 2 degrees to the temperature within minutes. 😟 No good decision here.

I'm doing reasonably well most of the time (other than feeling even groggier than usual). Then, bam, my POTS kicks in, my heart starts racing and I can get very unwell very fast. The lack of temperature regulation with POTS is ridiculous. It's currently 29 degrees here, my skin feels like it's burning, but other than some minuscule dampness under my arms, zero sweating.

I got a cooling blanket that someone mentioned here. It's better for sleep than my usual blanket.

I was at work most of the day and it was very hot and I struggled a little but home in my bedroom now feeling comfortable. I hope you find a great portable air conditioner unit, mine is on wheels but stays in my bedroom as I couldn't carry it up and down the stairs. They do need positioning near a window and they are loud but it's made such a difference for me.

That's wonderful news about the PIP review, I'm really happy for you. I bet everything feels a little better today as a result?

I wouldn't be without my cooling blanket, they're great aren't they? POTS and heat are no fun, I'm really sorry you're dealing with that.

You needn't be so scared, I know they're a bunch of incompetent clowns 95% of the time but they're not that bad.

    Thank you @Emilee

I hope the portable air con will work for you @yellowpineapple84

I used the oven early this morning as some vegan kebab was nearing its expiry date. Now back to eating gazpacho and biscuits for the foreseeable.

I bought a portable air conditioner a few years ago using some of my PIP backpay. Then when it arrived I realised it needed a huge exhaust pipe out of a window. Just didn't work in my small studio flat, couldn't get it near enough to the only accessible window. I tried putting the pipe up through the loft hatch instead, but all that did was blow all the dust and heat down from the loft which made my breathing even worse.

I gave the AC unit away in the end. It's just something else that I would have been able to use if I was in a larger property. This property has been my main limitation for the last few years but there just doesn't seem to be any service that would help find a more suitable one.

As for windows, I wouldn't leave them open overnight due to bugs. Bad enough during the day trying to keep them out but at least I've got some chance of getting them out in daylight. Unfortunately my vertigo and balance issues are so severe at night that it's just easier to shut everything else out.

Thank you, it is very hard right now, I hope you're managing too

Hi everyone, another hot one for us today. I hope you're all managing to stay as cool as possible. I think it's going to be hotter tomorrow as others have said but then it should start to cool down again. So fingers crossed we just have to get through another couple of days before we get a bit of relief.
