How is your day going?

Been a productive 24 hours to say the least, I got caught up adjusting all of my accounts as I changed my name legally to that of my late Grandfather. I missed taking my antidepressants so my insomnia was saying hello all night. I’ve been awake since eight am yesterday 🤦♂️🤦♂️ today has been hectic, I had council workman around all day to finish repairing my staircase, alongside that my stairlift had to be removed before hand and then reinstalled afterwards. I’ve got into watching movies recently, I’ve done all the Incredibles and Monster Inc Films alongside the Tom Holland Spider-Man trio before going watching the new one later in the month. Watched last years Superman last night, going to watch Supergirl tomorrow. Now sat in bed watching UP. Goodnight everyone 😊

Not that much actually, in fact in 36 years of MA training, the worst injury I had was a rather nasty back injury (especially when I've had back problems from birth anyway) during a Japanese Karate sparring match.

Good morning.
Its a beautiful sunny day here.
I' m pottering around doing things at home this morning and later on I need to get some grocery shopping.
I may be able to go to the local pub for a drink before I head back home.

Good morning everyone. Had a lie in this morning seems to have made me more tired than if I had got up at my normal time.
Enjoy your day whatever you do.
Take care.

Boring so far, at least I've been able to play some Xbox.
I need to go out though, apart from Taekwondo on Wednesday evening and my course yesterday morning I've not been out all week.

Hi everyone. People have lots of nice plans today I can see. 😊I hope you're all keeping cool if it's hot where you are.
Hope you manage to get out soon @SheffieldMan1976. Any idea when they'll be able to take you out next?

I have an open day at Sheffield Hallam University tomorrow morning, but knowing Nat she'll turn round and say there's no transport to go, and I don't have the funds for Taxis.

Are you not able to access public transport, or even cycle? If I was able, I would want to have a Brompton folding bicycle, and go hopping on and off buses with it.

Aww I really hope you can get there @SheffieldMan1976. You've been looking into courses for so long. That's not a bad idea if you are able to access public transport close-by? Would make things easier if you were to go onto a course as well.

True, I wouldn't mind but she had a month's notice.
What annoys me though, is that I've looked into several IT courses at Sheffield College, but for some reason (which is probably HIGHLY illegal) they keep telling me I'm too old because obviously 3 months next Tuesday ago I was 50.

If residents were allowed to go out solo, without staff assistance, that would be an option, but we're not, even though the Bus stops are literally outside and across the road from the House.

You are too old, mate, the limited resources need spent on the young. That doesn't mean you can't self fund?

I can see why you get frustrated @SheffieldMan1976. If you can't leave without them, but then get let down last minute. I really hope that doesn't happen and you can get out to at least have a look around and talk to staff to see if they have something that would work for you. 🤞

@ColonelBlink Like probably most people on here, I'm on benefits, I don't have £2000 for a Uni course.

It's a problem, no doubt about it, but as we both know as men in their 50s, there is little chance any investment by the local authority is going to lead to employment. A 20 something at least has a good chance of putting those skills to use within the economy.
Sadly the days of gaining knowledge for pleasure are over, certainly with regards to further education budgets footing the bill.

Evening all, very quiet day to say the least. Slept in late and got up and watched tv for the most part. Come 4pm back in bed watching Netflix and you tube on the iPad. Feeling flat as Kansas today.

Good morning.
Its dull and cool here today.
I'm going to watch the rugby today.
Australia v Ireland and wales v Fiji matches at home, then off to the pub with friends later to watch England v South Africa v England.
I hope you all have the best day you can.

Hi @Rag_793 can't beat a chilled day of Netflix when feeling a bit deflated. What are you watching? I started the Ted series last night and it was very easy, silly watching if you fancied something to cheer you up.

It's a bit more dull and windy here today but the sunshine is trying to poke her head out every so often. I've decided to work outside a little today.
Who will you be cheering on in the rugby today? (other than England of course, hopefully😅)
