Scottish child disability payment
hi I applied for child disability payment for my son 11 weeks ago and I’m still awaiting a decision. How long did it take you to hear back? he’s away to be one in three weeks. I’m also wondering if we can apply for the UC side of it too and how is that affected if myself and his father are both working?
Thanks in advance

Hi @courtneyV and a warm welcome to the community from me!
Unfortunately there is a big backlog at the moment but hopefully you won't be waiting too much longer! You can apply for Universal Credit in the meantime even though both of you are working as it takes your combined total earnings into account to determine your entitlement so you may still be entitled to something.
But for the Disabled Child Element and potentially a Carer Element to be added to your claim, you would need your child disability payment to be successful first.0
