Hello this is my first time on this site. I have recently applied for pip however, on reading some of the posts I am feeling extremely anxious. I was encouraged by my support officer (with CABA) to apply and the practice nurse at my local surgery. How long does it take for the face to face assessment or does that depend on where you live?

Hello @Purposeful, and welcome to the community. It is good to have you with us.
I understand that reading about some of the experiences people have had with PIP must seem alarming, but remember that you are only really hearing from those for whom it has gone wrong. It's a bit like reading about road traffic accidents, forgetting that the vast majority of car journeys take place without problem or incident
We have experts here on PIP (sadly I'm not one of them) who will be along to help you and plenty of resources to support you.
Have you looked through the posts in the 'Talk about PIP/DLA' forum? This one, on frequently asked questions, may help you: https://www.scope.org.uk/support/disabled-people/money/pip/faqs?_ga=2.55506094.405444417.1517054923-1832321402.1513208436
For now, hang on in there and keep in touch. I'm sure some of our specialists will be in touch.
Take care of yourself,
Warmest best wishes,
