Haven't seen what this forum is like yet but I'm on a couple of others that have helped me greatly.

I'm 28, a lady, and a designer and entrepreneur. I have had ME/CFS for about 18 months.

I am coming to terms with my disability. It fluctuates and is invisible so perhaps this has made me take longer to label it as a disability.

I am currently struggling with feeling comfortable to ask for help in moving around - normally I just find a way by myself though it takes longer and means I 'pay' for it later.

I also am struggling with the benefits system.

I'm feeling afraid of putting people out when I need help. I have led a very independent life and it's difficult for me to see what I could ask for, because I'm used to staying within the limits of what I can do alone.

I am interested in learning more about rights for people with disabilities. I already stand up for women's rights, lgbt rights, and against racism. It's time to learn my stuff around disability.

If anyone could point me in the right direction with these issues, I'd be interested! Thanks.

    Hi @lior
Welcome to the community.  There are lots of people in the community that have great experience in living with an invisible impairment. I will include the link to the discussions
    https://community.scope.org.uk/categories/invisible-impairments

Don't ever be afraid to ask for help when you need it (easier said than done, I know). It is something that I have had to learn to do as well.

If you have any other questions, please get back to us.
