Just short of 6' 3" big strong active bloke.
Arthritis slowly got worse over twenty year period.
Went for scans and the doc told me I had tumours on my spinal cord.
Went down hill quicker.
Tumours are benign (neurofibroma)
They cause me a great deal of problems.
Loss of sensation. altered and often weird sensation. Pain. Mobility issues.
Falling over dropping things.
Can walk and stand but very uncertain.
Electric wheelchair for shipping appointments etc.
Increasing painkiller use.
Gabapentin warning .... may gain weight.
14 stone for thirty years then within weeks 18 stone.
T2 diabetes appeared while I was still thin ... I blame it on statins which I threw in the bin.
Now two years since I've been on strong opiates .... Palexia (Tapentadol)
65 years old.
Hobby making electronic music.
Creating sounds to use in that music.
In another life I'm a cross between Jimi Hendrix and Rick Wakeman.
My music isn't yet tso good but I'm getting there. My homemade music ..... thirty odd tunes ..... https://www.reverbnation.com/jackbackband -
Hi @zoro and it's good to hear from you again. I listened to one of your tracks via your link in our KaleidoScope gallery and look forward to listening to more. Very, very impressed.
Have you been in touch with the Neuro Foundation, regarding your neurofibromatosis? You can visit The Neuro Foundation, call its helpline on 020 8439 1234, or email info@nfauk.org.
Whilst you don't mention the phrase, I suspect that you suffer 'chronic pain', and we have a relevant forum here https://community.scope.org.uk/categories/chronicpain You might well find conversations there that would be of interest to you.
Please let me know if any of this helps, or if there are any particular aspects of your situation that you need help or support with.
Here and listening, hoping to help,
Warmest best wishes,
Richard -
Thanks Richard.
Yes pain is my main problem to the point it's disabling.
I can stand and walk but with risk and pain.
So when out shopping with the missus and daughter and grandkids I have an electric wheelchair.
I shall check out those links over the weekend .... when I'm snowed in again by the sounds of things.
Glad you liked the music!
