Dreams- love, hate or meaningful?

I love that side of my life.
Some advantages to being asleep for longer than I am awake, or at best more than the requirement of 8 hours. Who makes these silly rules.

So who remembers them?
Black and white or colour?
Sound and sensation or nothing?

I do love the dreams where I can hear, see, feel, I often wonder how the mind does that.
I also like the dreams where you know you are dreaming but carry on with it anyway- maybe altering it because you know.
The dream within the dream, bit annoying.

Falling nope, wakes me up silly brain cells.
I should have written this in my pip forms as a hobby.  :)
I've kept a diary and I've studied the subject. Waiting for tech to be able to record them as visual so I can play back, can only do that in my head so far. Farfetched now maybe, but who knows.

Do not follow me, I don't know where I am going.

I don’t normally dream, when I can sleep that is.
nightmare last night though, think it’s the sleepy tablets.
hopefully I will dream of crystal clear water, warm sunshine and blue sky’s tonight  :)

Mine are changing because I have just halved one of my doses.
I feel as if the shutters have been lifted in my waking hours anyway.

Note to self avoid horrors and cheese just before lights out.

    Well I forgot last night's.
    Typical as I said I remember.  :D

If my last waking hours was relevant I watched a film with Tom Cruise in it. So it might have been a good dream!

Hello @whistles   Very interesting dreams and all that the interpretation of them.

I am on some meds which I have to take two hours before.  Then I go off sorry not literally.  Mind some people wish I would yes that's another Spiceman story.
I dream into the arms of angels who play with my hair.  Must be always sticking up my hair.  In the morning.

Any way dreams do have some amusing ones.

Have another one all beautiful women keep rushing to wards me.  I want to push them away.

Asking my Doctor to break my arms.

Keep dreaming I am eating a large cream meringue lovely and really filling when I woke up my pillow had gone.

    Old one are the best?

I had episodes of sleep walking when I get stressed. Which means I do not recall anything.  When I see in the morning plates on tables and glasses and mugs every where.  Known I had something in the night to eat.

Washing up half done and water in the bowl.  Cupboards open.

Another time in College sleep walking down the corridor out to the foyer and to the sandwich machine.  Past the security guard who apparently took me back to bed.  Because he said so, no recollection  Only empty packets sandwiches and crumbs on the floor and bed.

A lot of sleep and dreams are effected by peoples mental state.  My doctor told me so.  Even went to sleep council and centres.  Because I was ranting and raving in my sleep.  Shouting and fighting people, who were in my dreams and mainly the abusive relationships and family.

How did I know because of friends staying over.  So vivid dreams of my abuse and recollections of it.  Any body who would stay would wake up to me screaming and shouting.  Did the wrong thing of trying to calm me down.  One friend tried to and he and me woke up.  He had cuts to his face, so did I and bruises.  No idea till he told me.

Had no recollections or signs since.  Leaving my mental state.  Although now just wake up with duvet off and wonder why.

Always scared to stay at friends houses or any bodys.  Just do not know.  I do know stayed in a hotel recently and was OK I think I was.

Got no recollections of people complaining, did once or twice in hotels.

I hope you understand.  By way sleep and dreams are good and can be away to ease away stress and worries.

Diet can play a part in dreaming.  Having heavy meals spicy food late can effect sleep and dreams.

Always have a routine, all the time I have one.

Turn off electrical stuff.  Sorry every body I have to switch you off come around nine if I have to.

Nice calm music play some of my favourite ballads or calming sounds.  In the old days had sounds of Whales  on CD.

Toast with wholemeal bread, honey and sometimes mug warm milk.  These contain an enzyme called tryptophan.  This is a sleeping pill in food.  Shall we say that.  Found in beans and pulses.  How many of us have had a pasta at lunch time get tired.  That is because it is in pasta.

Then just sit for about five to ten minutes.  Then bed.  Room needs to be cool not cold and dark not too light.

Little bit of information for all you dreamers.

    Take care

    Hi spiceman,
i didn’t know pasta, beans etc were helpful for sleep.
thanks for that nugget of information  :)
i cant sleep if too warm or light and noisy, watching tv in bed is a no no. Don’t have one anyway in my room, just my Helen Clark toffee cow cushions, the material is lovely and soft

Hello @susan48 That is why they call me the spiceman.  Trying to take care of you and the ladies.  Plus the rest of the community.  Thinking of your health.

Always here to help and advise and try to be a rock.. Much as I can.  .

Other are Rice and Potatoes.  Anything that is a starch.

Understand this if have a pasta lunch always tired and makes me relaxed and sleepy.
Foods that are high in tryptophan.  Which is in my post aids restful sleep and can help.  Are Lean  meat ,nuts especially Walnuts and dairy produce   Other may help Tuna, Bake Beans on a jacket spud.  Chicken and corn, Roast Turkey and Potatoes Sandwiches with lettuce does work for me.
    Hope any of this helps

If you go on holiday to the Med any of those countries have after a meal fruit, nuts and cheese or yoghurt.  Bread with a meal or after.  Just bread .  This is because they all help your digestive system relax.  Which in turn makes you sleepy.

I will after evening meal that is have slice of bread butter honey or fruit or yoghurt.  Nuts usually Almonds or Walnuts.

The yoghurt Greek by the way put into it Fennel Seeds to aid digestion either top with fruit or nuts or have it separately.

    Whatever I do combinations.

Also do not eat heavy meals near to bedtime and avoid Caffeine or Alcohol.

    Hope this is useful.

    It works for me.

    Take care
