I would like to invite anyone in this community to attend the Hear us, Engage us: Marginalised Young people and Brexit event on the 18th of April at Room N at Portcullis House, Westminster between 5-7pm organised by 99% campaign with IARS international institute
We want to increase the engagement between MPs and disabled young people and young carers about Brexit and current UK politics with this event and build upon the policy recommendations of the last event in November: https://youngcarersnet.co.uk/marginalised-young-people-brexit/The first event produced some really good discussion about how Brexit will impact marginalized young people and policy recommendations which will be published in the youth-led 99% Campaign Magazine (www.99percentcampaign.org) in March. There will be roundtable discussions about the economy, NHS/social Care and political participation. These three topics will be discussed in relation to current key movements in UK politics and how they will be impacted by Brexit. NHS/Social care: How can services adapt to a post-brexit environment in the wake of the NHS crisis and lack of European trade? .Economy: With the local elections coming up in May, what will Brexit’s impact on marginalised young people’s communities be? What will replace the EU funding that youth projects across the UK could lose?Political participation: What are the implications (positive and negative) of giving 16-year old's the vote and what more can be done to engage marginalized young people in the Brexit implementation debates? These MPs are currently planning on attending and being part of the discussions at the event.Ruth Cadbury: MP for Brentford and Isleworth Ben Bradshaw: MP for Exeter George Howarth: MP for Knowsley John Howell: MP for Henley Tom Brake: MP for Carshalton and Wallington and Liberal Democrat for International TradeYou can book a place to attend here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/marginalized-young-people-and-brexit-second-event-tickets-44241892692Please also share ‘Hear us, Engage us’ campaign page here:https://www.facebook.com/HearusEngageus/ and the events Facebook would be much appreciated :https://www.facebook.com/events/2023934624521251/Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to see you there on the 18th of April
