I've had a 'hidden' disability for over 3 years now. I have chronic pain in my foot which makes standing in one position extremely painful and affects how far I can walk, but as I don't limp that badly or have to use walking aids yet most people wouldn't know. I had to give up the job I had in a school over 2 years ago and as I don't drive I'm almost completely reliant on my husband. I spend a lot of time at home by myself while he's working and find this has really affected my self esteem. I would really like to get in touch with other people like me because I feel quite isolated sometimes. Also I'm only in my forties.

Hi @kerrycatlover and welcome to the community. Glad to have you with us. It occurred to me that you might like to have a look at our 'Invisible Impairments' thread. I think you're very likely to find people there who have very much in common with you, as well as folks on other threads.
Really glad you found us,
Warmest best wishes,

Hi @kerrycatlover, and a warm welcome to the community! It's great to have you here.
Living with long-term illness can feel isolating at times, particularly when it's an invisible condition, but we're a friendly bunch so do know that you can come and chat with the community any time.
