Assessor lied

After my wife had her first pip assessment we asked for a copy of the report
Well I must say the lies he told were unbelievable
My daughter was so shocked she phoned them up and complained and then sat down and wrote a letter including his assessment and and base to questions what was wrong with them
Questions like can she sort her own finances out
Considering she can't even recognise numbers and we have power of attorney
But he put wife could sort her own finances out
He even recommended that my wife has another review in 6mths
It was arranged that another assessor would come out and today we received the report of second assessor
It says at end of report
BASED ON THE AVAILABLE EVIDENCE. I CONSIDER THAT THERE IS NO REQUIREMENT TO ARRANGE A REVIEW OF THIS CLAIM AS SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IS UNLIKELY
She then goes on to say conditions are not going to improve only get worse
Does this mean she doesn't think wife has to go for pip assessment again
After what happened with first assessor and lies he told
Think I'm a bit sceptical

    Hi,

Somewhere in the report, most likely towards the back there's boxes with dots and ticks. You need to look at these and compare them against the PIP descriptors to see what points are recommended. Use the PIP self test to check this.

She will of course have to wait for a decision to made.

I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.

See the link above and look for the ticks/dots somewhere in the report.

Hello mick1963, going by your post your wife wil be awarded enhanced PIP for daily living and mobility, the decision maker nearly always goes with the acessment report so you just have to wait for the official award letter. Thank you for posting your exspearence of the PIP acessment.

I didn't know about score until I was told on here
After adding up the score on 2nd assessors report which came to 38 for daily living and 24 for mobility
Today I got the assessors report out from first assessor  which we complained about as he had led on his report
    The difference was shocking
He allowed my wife 8 points for daily living and 22 points for mobility
The difference in the daily living is shocking
How can a assessor be allowed to do this
    It shows the difference
    1st assessor 8 points
    Review 6mths
2nd assessor 38 points and recommends no review at all
Although I know my wife would have got daily living now by score it's annoying that he lied and we still don't know why he wanted a review in 6mths when second assessor recommends no review
It just goes to show if we hadn't got his report and immediately complained about him
We would have lost money for her care and had unnecessarily review in 6mths again

Am I understanding this correctly. A complaint was lodged against the assessor for 'telling lies'  then they did another assessment because of the complaint which was dramatically different from the first and that resulted in the DWP changing their decision? And in all of this you did not apply for a MR or lodge an appeal?

If that is what happened why are we told to always go for a MR and not a complaint?

    I had a similar experience:-

My first assessment was 8DL/ 4 Mobility.

I complained about the inaccuracies - they didn't do another assessment but did a "clinical review" of the first one.

    Clinical review = 18DL/ 24mobility i.e an increase from 12 to 42!

I didn't ask for MR but DWP are having another look at it.

No we don't lodge a appeal
A decision hadn't been made by the decision maker
My daughter phoned up and wrote a letter stating each discrepancy that the assessor had got wrong
And said we would like another assessment
We had assessment on Monday got assessment report following Tuesday
They recieved letter Wednesday from daughter
And they  phoned us Thursday to arrange another
    assessment on the friday
It was all done very quickly

It's when you ask them to look at a decision again to reconsideration the original decision. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/appeals/mandatory-reconsideration/

    It wasn't a mandatory reconsideration
Because a decision had not been made to award wife pip
We just asked for another assessment
He contradicted himself so much on form you couldn't understand what he was on about

My wife is unable to stand with out support & she has
Limited movement in upper body as well

But according to him in daily living
wife could walk & use unaided to bathroom  and dress herself using aid

Then in mobility part he wrote unable to walk at all cannot stand without help from other person
Completely contradiction of what he wrote in daily living
Also wrote wife could manage her own finances
considering I have power of attorney and wife could not recognise words or numbers or us sometimes
    due to damage on brain
Which is in specialist report that was sent to them
I really would have liked to know how he came up with conclusion he did
Oh another thing he wrote was my wife refused to let him do a examination
Considering she never spoke to him once while he was here and he stopped doing tests when he realised she  never responded to him as she couldn't understand what he was on about
Even though it's all been sorted I'm still annoyed at him because of the lies he wrote
So when people say the assessor lied I can honestly believe it
Because I had never read such rubbish from that assessor
    Sorry still fuming

I am so surprised that this happened. We are constantly told to ignore the assessors report, wait for the decision letter and if the result is felt to be wrong go for a MR.
As many know of my failures (3) to initially get any points I never thought that making a complaint would be useful. I have read that they tend to fob you off and despite the report the DWP will almost always go with it. Even the DWP blurb tells you to only deal with them.

I have never complained believing that it would not be looked at seriously. Just goes to show what you can do if you get good advice or already have in-depth knowledge..

@mick1963; I am glad your daughter made that complaint, and that your wife's claim has been sorted out.  It sounds like you haven't had the decision letter yet, but from the report it sounds like it should be enhanced on both with an ongoing award.  Hopefully the letter will arrive soon and you can relax a little.

I must admit the 2nd assessor who came out new more about my wife condition than I did
She also couldn't understand why my wife didn't have physiopherapists visiting her at home
I told her we didn't know that we could have that
Which she said yes you can
    We now are sorting this
She not only concerned herself with wife but the stress wife's condition was having on whole family
And recommended we got in touch with social services for support for whole family

Push for whatever support you need.  I found social services to be very useful in chasing up other services.  I think they quite like doing that as it doesn't impact their own budget much!

I think the physio at home would be helpful
But don't want people interfering to much as we seem to be in a good routine
But I'll talk to them to see what support they can offer
