Hi,All those that transferred from Incapacity benefit to ESA are being contacted by DWP because of an error made by them. When people transferred across they were automatically placed onto Contributions based ESA and weren't assessed for any Income related top up.They are contacting everyone, even those that no longer claim ESA. Just because you're now claiming your pension it doesn't mean you won't be entitled to receive any backdated money, if they owe it to you.If you don't have the ESA3 form that they say they send then ring ESA on Monday morning and tell them you didn't receive it. It's possible that this form can be filled in over the phone. If it's not filled in then they can't assess you, this means you could be missing out on some money. Of course not everyone will be entitled to any backdated money, it depends on your circumstances at that time.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
