Last week I had my first review assessment  for my PIP award and it's really stressing me out. Due to nature of my illness the assessment  was done in my home as I hate to go out side , hate being around people . I also have night terrors , visions of  painfull events  and thoughts of  how to hurt myself for them to stop. I feel though the nurse was friendly I feel I was being set up for a fall. Can anyone advise on what I should do ?

Hi @rturner, and a warm welcome to the community!

Thanks for sharing this with us, and well done on persevering with the review. Do you have supportive people around you who can be there for you whilst you wait for the outcome?

You are a member of our community and we appreciate you. If you are having thoughts of self harm, it is important that you discuss them with someone who is qualified to help. Please call the Samaritans on 116 123 (free) or email them at jo@samaritans.org. You might also benefit from reading MIND’s information on how you can help yourself.

If you feel that you may be an immediate danger to yourself, please call 999 or go to your local hospital right away.

Thank you to pippa  and Steve,  the many stages of waiting for the pip reply is no good for any illness people endure , so I feel I needed to reach out in some way.

Thank you so much, I feel very much on my own 99 percent of the time, I get pockets of help but I'm forgotten about. I had help from samh to get me out the house but that was only for 12 weeks as it is 22 pound and hour. Thank you so much for the warmest of welcomes. Now await my pip reassessment response .

Hello @rturner Thanks for reply. You not alone remember that.

You a valued member of our community now.

I myself live on my own and know how hard that is. First time out for a couple of months.

Had appointment. Use this forum for support and mental wellbeing.

I gave you the name of the mental health charity might help.  If you wish to have a look.

I used local council services but found only short term was not for me.

So used mental health charities felt a lot better and got a lot of reassurance.

Hope that helps you. We are here anytime to listen.  Want to have a chat or speak about something. Need to share and we do care.
