Hi guys. My daughter was receiving dla sometime ago now but when she reached 16 I was told that I had to apply for pip. I applied bit they refused her they said she was to able which is absolutely ridiculous. I've been waiting over a year for the tribunal but I've still heard nothing. What is the longest time you've had to wait. Sorry for ranting just very stressed as my daughter's nearly 18 and doesn't receive an income and she is unable to work because of her condition. Any advice would be great. Thanks ?

Mine was 18 months. I've seen people on here around the 2 year mark.
Have you called them recently? They can often give you an idea of waiting times in your area. -
Hi,Waiting times are huge in most parts of the country. You say your daughter doesn't receive an income, is she a full time student? do you still claim child benefit for her?I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Hiya yeh she's a full-time student but is unable to work because of anxiety levels. She gets child benefit
-
Unfortunately because she's a full time student then she's unable to claim any means tested benefits in her own right. The only benefit she can claim is PIP.If your household is low income you should also be claiming child tax credits for her. Both child benefit and tax credits are paid until they reach their 20th birthday providing they remain in no advanced full time education.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
