Thanks poppy, my sisters looked into that for me and thats where the problem lies!! Even if I try to do voluntary work, so not sure how Im going to be able to cross this hurdle, I have major issues with anxiety and mixing and engaging with people so I know its going to be a slow process as my new treatment hasnt even started yet, and i've got to be weaned off my current medication and then start a new one!!! But I really do just want to get to the point of getting up and going out to work u know ?? but the system seems to make it difficult to do doesnt it??
My sister has looked into it and said when i'm ready I could work 16 hours and claim tax credits but when she looked into it further, she just couldnt grasp the complicated criteria!!!! Di u know anything about this poppy
I cant put the card on as it wont let me put an attachment on here ?? see if my sister can find a way of doing it xxxxxx much wishes and kind regards poppy and hope alls well with u xxxx0 -

anthonyj1 said:I love it! thank so much, that means a lot! My first ever thank you card here, i'm feeling very honoured and you've definitely made my day!To answer your question about tax credits. I'm afraid unless you're currently claiming a severe disability premium in another benefit because you live alone then you won't be able to start a new claim for tax credits because all areas are now a full Universal credit area. Also for the permitted work you can't work 16 hours, it has to be less than 16 hours. My advice for now is to concentrate on your health, that's the most important thing. Everything else can wait and you maybe able to think about working sometime in the future.Good luck with everything!0

Aww glad thats made u happy poppy xx and it should not have been the first, all the people u help xxxxx
Just to let u know I already get the SDA for living alone and my area hasnt transferred over to tax credits yet, do you knoe anymore about this tsx credits when you get the severe disability premium?
Your right about concentrating on my health and getting and I know I shouldnt be jumping the gun but im so eager to try get back into some sort of employment
So glad u liked the card and hapoy it made your day xxx0 -
Thank you.As you receive the SDP (not SDA) for living alone then yes you would be able to claim working tax credits, if you worked at least 16 hours per week. You would also receive the disabled element of tax credits. If you did this then your ESA would stop. Remember though that the rules for those claiming SDP are only in place until January 2021, after this date then a change of circumstances would mean a move to UC.Personally, if i wanted to try to work then i'd look into permitted work first to see how i could cope with working, which is exactly what it's for.0

Thanls poppy, its a bloody minefield isnt it!!! You dont know what to do for the best its that complicated. So I would have to start work before jan 2021 to be able to claim tax credits? I dont think the permitted work would help me as any work would most defintely go against the descriptors for both esa and pip, so I couldnt even try to see how i would get on because it would cause me problems. Its so frustrating hey poppy, but like u said need to concentrate on my treatment etc but many things as per poppy xx0

Yes, it would have to be before January 2021. Complicated indeed and you're welcome.

dee4848 said:@anthonyj1 Hi , dont know if your still on this site having got yours out of the way, I wanted to ask what / who supporting letter did you send please? That will depend on what evidence you have that's relevant to how your conditions affect you. Someone else's condition maybe completely different to yours. As long as it's relevant then send it.Also when filling out the form adding a couple of real life examples of what happened the last time you attempted that activity for each descriptor that applies will also help a lot.0

Hi poppy I've sent my application in for pips it's paper based they have requested medical evidence or whatever it is of my gp which he sent I don't really know if they will still want me in for face to face though they said it was going to be paper based on the phone but waiting to be reviewed by a member of the assessment team I sent my forms on the 23rd of Jan and got the text saying if they need anymore information they will be in touch, on the 10th of February I received that text do you know how long it would roughly take and is getting a paper based always a good result iv suffered depression for many years with alot of suicide attempts and anxiety attacks all the time I just don't know what why this will work I'm not really good at understanding things in writing I use Google alot to spell words0
