    Hey there,

I'm bi, poly and disabled, and I met one of my partners on OKCupid. I wrote an extremely honest profile, describing my disabilities as well as all the usual stuff. I got the usual "Sex tonite?" messages, several messages from people who clearly hadn't read my profile, and a couple of unpleasant ableist messages at first. A wrote to me a couple of months in, and we've been together for 3 years. He's also disabled, so he gets it. You can make yourself invisible to men on okc, which is handy if you're a lesbian!

(I find it easier being poly because my partners have other people they can do stuff with when I can't, but that's not for everyone!)

Hi @jody_sensitive_soul It's brilliant to meet you.

At some point in life, everybody has that thought that there isn't anybody out there for them. That simply isn't true in my experience!

A good place to start if you're not quite ready for dating apps would be Outsiders
Some use the club as a stepping stone, some to find a partner. Others enjoy being part of a group of people who are there for each other and learn from each other, to help individuals accept and love themselves.

Hi @jody_sensitive_soul and a very warm welcome to the community! I hope the advice from others has been helpful. Just thought I would add a YouTuber who is both a lesbian and disabled. Her and her wife as so sweet! She's called Jessica Kellgren-Fozard, here is her YouTube and Instagram. :)

Hi @jody_sensitive_soul how are you? I just wanted to say that from my personal experience, what you're seeking is perfectly possible. I'm a wheelchair user and a lesbian and have been in two long term relationships and have had other less serious partners too. I don't know how old you are but I'm 28, and whilst it was very difficult when I was younger, I have found that slightly older women are more understanding and sensitive than, say, teenagers. I hope you find what you're looking for  :)
