Hi everyone,
My name is Kym and I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts but am currently living in North West England. I was a single mum of 4 awesome kids, they are all adults now. I'm currently engaged to my partner Matt, he's a great guy but doesn't seem to know how to handle my mental health issues.
I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety and Schitzo-effective Disorder.
Ive only been in the country for the last 18 months and am still adjusting to the change.
I have two kitty's Kloe (2 yrs) & Moose (7 months), quite honestly they keep me somewhat sane.
Hope to get to know everyone soon.

Hi @Kimeva24 - Welcome to this supportive community, Kim, & thank you for sharing. Hope you're enjoying the British weather! The charity Mind might also be helpful with your various problems. See:There is also Bipolar UK. See: https://www.bipolaruk.orgPerhaps looking at some of the explanations given in these links may help Matt understand a little more. Now about your 2 kitties, it would be lovely to see photos of them, which you can do here in the Coffee Lounge section: https://community.scope.org.uk/discussion/66308/hi-everyone-lets-see-a-picture-of-your-fur-babies-️or-pets#latestI would love to see any pics....my kitten Shadow is there.

@Connie00 thank you so much, but I have exhausted all of my options that I can get to in my town. Im physically disabled so I cant walk far and right now we are skint, so buses and cabs are out. I recently had a phone assessment with Talking Matters and i was told that I wasnt depressed enough and a year ago i had a phone assessment with the same place and i was told that I was beyond their scope (excuse the pun) of help, in other words i was too depressed for them to help me. Im damned if I do and damned if I don't, i just cant win, story of my life ??

@chiarieds thank you for the links but Matt does know about Bipolar and BPD, He just isnt used to the way I cope with things, ie. self harming, isolating myself etc. He himself has mental health issues (i believe that he is Bipolar also, he hasnt been diagnosed but he exhibits all the signs and symptoms of it definitely) and when he is is having a bad day he cant deal with my mental health issues and visa versa. The only difference is that when my emotions get to be too much i isolate and/or self harm. But i will definitely look into the links. Thank you so much xx
