How are people managing caring for family members who live 'independently' during COVID19? My sister had PD&LD and lives alone with care and support from me. During lockdown we moved her in with us but this can't continue in the long term so we began to phase her back into being at home. Now we face new restrictions yet to be announced. How are you all managing?

Hi and welcome I think we are all waiting in dread for any new measures about to be introduced but it seems they are predicting it will be closure of hospitality for a month

You must be concerned about your sister and I dont know the solution I would just do all you can to gert her back into a new normal routine.

Her normal routine isn’t possible as the social activities that she attended every weekday have not reopened. Isolation is a big problem if she is at her home (10 miles from us) Just seems like there is no good advice about how far we can push the rules when supporting people.

    Welcome to the community :)

That sounds like a real challenge @Joey82. Are you able to form a support bubble with her, as she lives on her own?

    HI and welcome,

Up to now those that are vulnerable and need support you can continue to support them and visit them in their home, at least this is the rules where i live. Regarding the new rules that maybe announced soon, then who knows what they will be but i can't see the country being returned to a full lock down like there was in March, so it will depend on where in the country you're living.
