I’ve been thinking about getting involved to support Scope as a volunteer and thought that the best place to start was by joining the online community
I’d be really interested to hear about people’s best experiences being a part of this community and to get some ideas on where best to start getting involved...

Hi @RelativelyDisabled - & welcome to this friendly & supportive community Mark. It's great you want to get involved, & support Scope as a volunteer. Are you considering being a volunteer in one of Scope's shops, or being an online volunteer here? Either way, you'd be most welcome.I've been a member of this online community for 14 months.....I've certainly learnt a lot both about Scope, & the many difficulties members face. I've also felt supported along the way; made friends, & enjoy the company of many lovely members. The Scope team I'm sure will be more than happy to answer any queries you have about volunteering; just ask.

Thanks all for the kind, warm and insightful welcomes! Looks like a really great community here, so pleased to be joining it
Hi @Cher_Scope thanks and I’m not entirely sure. I think getting involved with the community here is a great start! Beyond that I think the area that interests me most is getting involved with things that support and assist people who want to access work, but find they experience challenges in doing this.

@RelativelyDisabled Employment is an area that our members are increasingly struggling with so we would welcome you offering advice on the community If you haven't already, try to check out our Employment and careers board.
Also, you might find it interesting to read about Scope's Support to Work service as they focus on helping people in this area too.
