ESA HC5 help

Hey all,
Today I had my first lot of treatment at Birmingham hospital. I have to attend every 2 weeks for 12 months - a nightmare given I live almost 2 hours away.
I intend to claim back petrol expenses and given I'm on IR ESA, I can claim back.
But the HC5 form is confusing me. Says take to a cashiers office with benefit entitlement and bottom of form states I have to send it off to ESA to stamp? How do they pay me?
Any advice appreciated!

It used to be and I assume it still is that you took your proof of benefit to the cashier office at the hospital and they would re-emburse your travel cost.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

If the place you received treatment can administer payment then you can claim during the visit.

Best of luck with your treatment @jimdave19832. As @woodbine and @MarkN88 have said, usually if you take proof of eligibility (such as a benefit award letter) to the relevant place in the hospital they should be able to sort it out for you.Community Manager
