Hi @AnneFlorentine! Welcome to the community How are you doing today?
-
Hello and thank you for your warm welcome.
I have been asked to tell you a little bit about myself.
I had a subarachnoid haemorrhage in January 2020, I underwent emergency brain surgery and during the operation I had a second bleed, which resulted in me having a stroke. The result of this has been that I have left sided weakness, I am unable to walk and have issues with my balance. In April 2020, as part of lockdown all patients who were in the neuro rehab unit were discharged early. I have had quite a lot of health issues since then and continue with pain and altered sensation. I am hopeful that post COVID-19 I will be able to access physio and learn to walk again ?. I am due to get married in June this year, it was postponed last year and I want to be able to walk down the aisle.I am keen to be involved and share my views and ideas with everyone on the platform, it seems from the responses I have received, everyone is supportive. -
Hi @AnneFlorentine - & thank you for kindly replying. I'm sorry for all you've been through, & then, due to Covid-19, getting discharged early from rehab. I do hope you'll be able to safely get physio, as you certainly have a lovely goal to aim for. I'm a physio (tho that was a long time ago), & my main interest was neurological problems, so I've had the pleasure of helping a lot of stroke patients. I'm now on the other side of the fence as I have neurological problems associated with my genetic disorder (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome). At least I know the exercises to do!I hope you might like to try these exercises by Canadian therapists, which show adaptations, so that you just move how it's comfortable for you:10 mins chair Yoga24 mins Gentle Tai Chi & Qi Gong

Ross scope how do you do that with the name i always type it out lol

@lisathomas50
To tag somebody, like I just did with your username above, you do this:- type the at symbol
- then start typing the username of whoever you want to tag, so @??????
- once you start typing the username, a list of usernames will appear for you to choose from, you simply just click on the person you want to tag and it will insert the link and send them a notification.
- so if I wanted to tag Tori from the community team, I'd write the at symbol, then her username, so @Tori_Scope
