I got the email and its followed up by a letter I received the day after too.
Your local area will have services and volunteers that can help in various situations.
Although, it will vary from area to areas.
I'm trying to follow the letter as much as I can, however I contacted the local council who said they had no volunteers immediately available to help go and fetch my prescription that was ready for collection, I have no friends and family that could do it near by and the pharmacy wouldn't answer their telephone, so I've had to go over myself. -
As long as you got it. we get ours delivered so don't have that problem not a very good system if they can't get volunteers for where you live. Hope you told the phamacy off why don't you sign up for delivery? Makes things a lot easier.

You'll never know till you try them that's what they are there for.

I've just had another shielding letter come today, I've had the jab, in any case I still have to go Drs for Injections and blood tests and to chemist, so no point really, just have to be careful as the letter says I'm in high risk group of getting poorly with covid because of my lungs.

@Sandy_123 I have a shielding letter but my dr comes here and does all my tests and the chemist deliver
Even though I am trying to find a job ? x -
@lisathomas50 mine won't come out and the chemist deliver through royal mail, I have too much to be lost by the post.
-
@Sandy_123 all the chemists where I live deliver medication pre covid I went to the surgery but now they come here
-
@lisathomas50 that's good probably different in Wales, they do things different. It's better tho
-
@Sandy_123 you would think if people are shielding that they would do the same lol ? doesn't make sense does it x
-
@lisathomas50 it don't make sense to be fair,
-
@Sandy_123 I am worried about the person on the other thread
-
@lisathomas50 yeah me too
-
@lisathomas50 thanks for the messages I'm fine thanks Hope the other person sought help .

Well a quick update i never did get speak to a gp or anyone for that matter but I went onto the nhs app yesterday and booked 1st vaccine I had it earlier. Today I received the invitation for the vaccine but it said because I am a carer. So when does my health conditions come into anything?
-
By the sounds of it your GP thought your health conditions didn’t increase your risk and you have been invited because you have caring responsibilities.
-
@MarkN88 probably but that's not following rules set out for getting the jab for him to put me forward under the carers he is ignoring my health but he is always doing that
If you knew what I've got then you would probably agree with me but thanks for the reply -
I have cardiovascular disease, peripheral artery disease, severe copd,Osteoporosis fibromatosis, fibromyalgia raynaulds syndrome etc etc if that's not enough to qualify in my drs eyes .no wonder he or anyone won't talk..
