Hi there,
I am working with a playwright who is writing a new play about a mother and her son with Cerebral Palsy. The writer was hoping to have a conversation with someone from this community as part of his research. Scope suggested a put this request here - do let me know if anyone can point me in the direction of somebody who might be interested in chatting to the writer. He is particularly hoping to chat to mothers.
Thanks,
Guy

Hi @guyjones Thanks for thinking of us. Would you be able to send an email to community@scope.org.uk, just so we can check a couple of things?
-
Hiya - of course - I'll do that now.
-
I might tentatively be interested (mother) but need to know a lot more first!

Thanks @forgoodnesssake for your reply.
My email address is guy@headlong.co.uk, if you would like to get in touch that way.
Our writer is hoping to have conversations with people with lived experience of CP to enrich the content of his play and ensure he represents his characters authentically. The conversations will be informal, and won't be recorded, and he won't use any information in the play without the consent of the interviewee. -
Update: i had a really interesting conversation with the playwright yesterday and my initial reservations about such a request were very much allayed; the writer has some very important issues to raise I think and so hopefully he gets a few more "takers" to inform his creative process!

Thank you so much for helping us out, @forgoodnesssake
