I have Eds type three, sarcoidosis, on your autistic spectrum and ADHD. I am homeless so sofa surfing and living in my Motability car. Was living at my ex partner summer house in her back garden but mynex partner has now exchanged and didn't want me there. Been told that I need independent living but can't move or have a place with local council because I'm to young as I'm 45 years old and need to be 55 years old.also the area I came from as all my support which as taken me 10 years to be able to go around in that area. There is also bungalows in this area but I can't have one because I'm not old enough. Feel like I'm just lost in the system and will not been give a place until I'm 55 years old. Homeless can't do anything for me as I'm to complex with all my disabilities. I have waiting social worker,OT,etc, etc but they can't do anything for me until I have a place to live. I have trouble using my phone with my mental health disabilities and is the only way to get in contact with me. But because I was unable answer my phone once due to being in pain and fatigue, plus my mental disabilities had taken a turn for the worse I was stuck off from being homeless and my placing a the bidding was move down from not being homeless and missed out on a potential tenancy. I didn't ask to be born with my disability and I almost died this new year's day from covid and have issues from this to.i can't have any new or changed of medication because I'm Homeless. I'm under Highbury hospital for my mental health disabilities. I hope you can help me as I have been trying to climb out of a big pit which I've already been suicidal and trying to not go back there but it's tempting when I carry pain killers and control drugs and afraid of my medication being taken of my and then I will be in trouble. Hope you can help me please and losing the will to go on and be coming a recluse and separate myself from Society and family. Please help me

I'm sorry to read about how things are for you @leebob - I also have the same type of EDS as yourself, & that on it's own can be bad enough. I'll ask a member of the Scope team for their help. Please @Cher_Scope can you advise here, thank you.

Hi @leebob and welcome to our online community.

I'm sorry to hear about your current situation, that sounds extremely tough and unfair.  In relation to being homeless, it's an absolute priority to get you rehomed and I'd advise you to contact Shelter's free helpline on 0808 800 4444 (open 8am-8pm weekdays, 9am-5pm weekend) as they have trained specialists in this area.  Please read Shelter's 'Help if you're homeless: disabilities and health conditions' webpage as this outlines what your entitlement is.

You can also speak with one of Scope's friendly helpline advisors on 0808 800 3333 (open 9am-6pm weekdays, 10am-6pm weekends) and they will be able to offer more personalised support.

You mentioned previously having felt suicidal and finding this tempting whilst having access to medication, and this caused me some concern.  Please contact your GP to speak more about this asap, so they are aware and can offer help.  While, if you ever get the feeling you might act on your thoughts, call 999 immediately and ask for an ambulance.  We want you to keep safe.

There's also some mental health organisations you can speak to anytime of the day, 24/7, if you need them. You can:
I'm going to email you shortly to offer support directly, but thank you for joining and sharing with us your story.  You are doing incredibly well given the circumstances and we are all here for you if you ever want to talk, vent or ask any other questions.  Take care.
