I suffer with back pain. I'm in agony every second of every day. I currently have a back stimulator which is not helping. I just want to talk to people who feel the same as me. Miserable anxious hopeless.

I feel so alone in my pain, but feel guilty that so many others may be so worse off than me. I feel hopeless.

Hi and welcome to the community
You are not useless at all
It is difficult dealing with constant pain
Have you been referred to a pain management clinic
You will find lots of people on here who you can discuss with
Hope to see you around -
Welcome to the community @Gravity101 Thanks for joining, and for sharing a bit about your experiences in your first post here. It's great to have you with us.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing pain in your back, and that this is bringing up quite a lot of negative feelings.
Are you under the care of any teams to help you with your back pain, such as a pain management clinic? Do you know what's causing your back pain?
I was also wondering whether you're receiving any support for your mental health? If not, it could be worth speaking to someone about the feelings of anxiety, guilt, hopelessness and so on that you've been experiencing. Would you feel comfortable speaking to your GP about this?
We have plenty of members who experience chronic pain, so you're not alone. You might like to start off by heading to our dealing with chronic pain category. If you want to take part in some more light-hearted discussion, you might like to head over to the coffee lounge too.
I know it's much easier said than done, but try not to compare your experience to other people's. Some people may be in more severe pain than you, or under worse circumstances, but that doesn't make your experience any less valid or difficult. -
Hi @Gravity101 - & welcome to this friendly & supportive community. I hope you find the advice above helpful; I certainly feel it's important to let your GP know about your back pain too to see what they may be able to offer. I have chronic lower back pain + neurological pain the moment I'm upright, but this eases after I lie down for a while, so I get some peace. You are worse than me, & you have my empathy, & I hope you can get some relief from your back pain. My best wishes.

@Gravity101 - hello and welcome. It doesn’t sound as though you’re having the best of times! Have you been involved with the physiotherapist services or hydrotherapy department? When I started having leg and lower back pain my GP referred me and in a couple of weeks I was cursing myself for nit doing it sooner!

I'm sorry to hear that you have back and leg problems. Yes I've done hydrotherapy, physio, injections, sports massage, acupuncture, mindfulness programs, operations. You name it & I've probably done it which is unfortunate because it means there are less options I've seen chiropractors, osteopathy, doctors, surgeons, pain management specialists the list is long. I've currently got a back stimulator in . How do you manage if you don't mind me asking? Thank you for taking to me!
