good evening. My partner claims esa for us both, claim started in 2012. I am confused which one we get. Is it contribution based or income based? Our housing benefit claim says income based esa but i am confused with this latest award letter. Thank you

HI and welcome,I note from that letter that you're in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG) this means that your ESA is entirely Income Based. Just so that you're aware, Contributions based ESA is only paid for 1 year unless you're placed into the Support Group.Hope this helps.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Thank you very much. They're not the easiest letters to understand.
