Hi Teddy bear12!
Thanks for the welcome.
I'm not sure how or what to ask yet!
My problem is neuropathy of the auditory nerve in both ears.
It's something you seriously don't want!
Never received a jot of help from ENT consultants & I tried a few.
Was left to discover what was wrong myself.
Employment is so difficult to find as it's not just poor hearing but clarity of sound is poor & with constant tinnitus & ear/head pain that varies in intensity.
So just here for info & help another if possible ? -
Hello @Gympie and welcome to the community
I'm sorry to hear of the challenges you've had with your hearing, and it's a shame that you haven't received any support for it.
When you say employment is so difficult to find, do you mean that you can't find many roles that you feel confident enough in doing, or that you're applying for plenty but not quite managing to get the position?Online Community CoordinatorConcerned about another member's safety or wellbeing? What I've discovered since around 2006 when the problem became pretty bad is that as soon as they realise my hearing is poor I am shunned & unwanted long before I could have the chance to prove myself.
And of course there are so many roles where health & Safety rules exclude me.
So all in all it's a deeply painful experience.
Edit: And there really is no help what so ever out there.
As I've long tried to find it.
