    Hello @Spiffy

Welcome to Scope's forum. It is great to see you have joined us. How are you today? Would you like to expand on the support and information you are looking for? This would just enable us to ensure you have the support you need and deserve. In the meantime, you may find our discussion section for children, parents, and families useful. Thank you for the warm, and very quick, welcome.
My son is a full grown adult with, we think, undiagnosed ADHD, he had a referral from his GP for an ADHD assessment back in May this year he's recently found out that they are currently working on referrals from January 2019 TBH he can't wait that long for help and are looking to get a private one, my biggest problem right now is finding one, how do we know which ones are good etc etc

    Hello @Spiffy

Thanks for your further clarity about the information you are currently seeking. The waiting lists for diagnosis are indeed long and I hear your frustrations. Unfortunately, we do not provide medical guidance here on Scope's forum which includes diagnosis. However, I have found an external website you may find useful as it provides information about private diagnoses for ADHD. If you are interested, you can find it at https://adhdaware.org.uk/what-is-adhd/getting-nhs-diagnosis/. I hope this helps but if you have any further questions, need any clarity, or need any further support, please don't hesitate to reach out to us again. Take care for now and I will look forward to hopefully hearing from you again soon  :)

Thank you I shall head over there and have a look.
I should add I'm not looking a medical diagnosis here
My son has deteriorated dramatically over the past couple of months, we've had to stage a couple of  interventions for suicidal ideation in two weeks, his doc knows this, he needs me to arrange these things now and I'm floundering and it's all very new to me .
I will keep searching on here and thank you

Hi and welcome to the community from me too

I don't have any answers for you but maybe look at some charity organisations that specialise in the condition
