Hi there,
I sent my fathers renewal back in January 2022, i received a phone call today regrading this totally out of the blue no letter nothing, the call lasted 4 minutes and will hear decision in the next 5-7 days.
I am very confused as to what this means for my father as he hasn't heard a thing in almost 5 months
Can an assessment last 4 minutes?
Is this bad news?
Thank you

You haven't said which benefit this is for so i assume it's PIP. Sometimes no assessment is needed and they just need to aks a few questions. When they do this they don't usually send an appointment letter out, they will just call out of the blue. This is otherwise known as a paper based assessment.I've never heard of anyone be refused after a paper based assessment.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Hi @2324walk and welcome to the community, thanks for posting your query, and I'm glad to see our members could help.
It sounds like a paper based assessment to me too, so do keep us up to date as and when you hear more. I hope you get a positive outcome
