Hi Guys ,,Can someone please give me advice on SDA ..I have had ESA since  June 2021 but because of my private and RN pensions I do not receive any payments only NI credits  ..after MR I was put into LCW group have phone  tribunal on 1st Sept hopefully be put into LCWRA group and receive £40 if I get into the support group  .  
     I receive PIP living allowance standard rate again after an MR and my wife has just been given carers credit but not allowance  . Having looked at the Gov.uk ..This and  various other sites I believe I am entitled to SDA ??

    As you didn't claim ESA until June 2021 then it will be New style ESA that you're claiming. There are no disability premiums payable with this ESA because it's a contributions based benefit only.
    The disability premiums are only payable on Income Related ESA/JSA/Income Support.
    Just so that others are aware, it's not known as SDA, it's now SDP (Severe disability Premium)

    Thanks Poppy..It is very vague the difference between the two ESAs but yes I am getting contribution ESA
    I started claiming after losing my job due to ill health in May 2021 and have been off sick since Sept 2020 . Reckon the only way I can get any extra money is by getting placed in the Support group after the Tribunal in a few weeks . One thing I do find strange is my Job centre coach said last week I will not have to have anymore monthly phone interviews as I am in the LCW group and not expected to find a job may be because I will be 66 in April .

    It's New style ESA rather than contributions based (there's a difference between the 2) the old contributions based can have an Income Related top up, New style ESA is purely contributions based only.
    As you already have LCW then you won't be expected to look for work anyway. Some people are expected to attend interviews at the job centre or by telephone.
    When you reach state pension age your ESA will end completely, because it's a working age benefit. You will then receive your state pension, which you'll need to apply for.
