Hi, I have athetoid cerebral palsy and was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year - huge shock as I felt fine. My treatment is complicated by my disability as I can't keep still so when I recently had 3 weeks of radiotherapy, I had to also have a general anaesthetic every day. The NHS staff have been great and I've got good support but I wondered if anyone else out there with CP has also been treated for cancer?

Thank you for sharing some of your story. It great to hear you have had good support. I hope you continue to make a good recovery, and that you get the treatment you need.1

A friend of mine has recently been cured of cancer and has cp quadriplegia. Things will get tough but I promise you can get through it. If you want I could ask my friend if he would talk to you and give you some advice.2

Thanks Kierang, glad to hear your friend has been cured. Yes, I'd be interested in hearing about how he coped with the cancer treatment having a disability.0

It is said that there is a better chance to fight against cancer, if it is diagnosed and treated in early stage. Its diagnosis started with a physical exam along with laboratory studies of blood, urine, and stool to detect abnormalities. As far as concern about cerebral palsy problem, it is considered as a lifelong condition which doesn’t have good cure yet. However, some treatments are available that can improve your life.0

Hi Scotty
I have CP and I am currently in remission. I under went 7 months of chemo and various other treatments. My CP did make some of the treatments more problematic but I got through and you will too!0
