I went to the [Location removed] Scope store on Friday to do my usual Voluntary Work but found it to be closed. I haven't managed to get hold of them since then. Does anyone know what is happening there, please?

Hi @m_burrell82, sorry to hear that! Have you had any luck getting through to them today? I will see if I can find out what's going on for you.
I'm just going to edit out the location of your store to keep you safe as it may identify you, but I will make a note of it privately so we know which store it is.Rosie (she/her)

I just found out that the manager was very ill but I will be back there this Friday.
I am not concerned about being identified. I send all my details out elsewhere online. If folk hadn't been so concerned about my privacy, I might not be so lonely in life. It is a terrible thing being lonely and not having a companion in life. -
Glad you were able to find out what happened @m_burrell82, I hope the shop manager is feeling better soon. But sorry to hear you're so lonely in life, I hope our community helps with that a littleRosie (she/her)

The manager actually had posted about it on our Whatsapp group, but something strange, that I can't work out has happened to my Whatsapp, except that I am sure that someone hacked me and Whatsapp has blamed me. On News about hacking I tried to post this but something stopped me: "How can consumers win, when going by what has happened to those like me, there are those like Whatsapp and Google who when someone has been hacked, blame the users, instead of whoever has done an obvious hack. The Users lose their accounts and whoever has done the hacking gets away with it". I am absolutely certain that this is the case. As usual in this new technological age, us vulnerable people just get the problems.

Those big companies don't make it easy for the users sometimes @m_burrell82. As you say, it often affects vulnerable people the most, especially if it's one of their main ways of communicating with other people. Sorry that happened to you, it must have been very frustrating.Rosie (she/her)

well I have reported Whatsapp to Off Com and I will go to my phone store to see if there is anything that can be done, at least to make sure my security isn't compromised. This is one of the issues we all should be fighting to make things better for us.
-
That's very true @m_burrell82, and it's always worth making those complaints. Best of luck at the phone store, I hope they're able to help you sort things out!Rosie (she/her)

I don't know. Being lonely has just been a big problem that no-one has thought of helping me with.

I do go to meetup.com groups

Ah excellent, how are you finding them? I know local councils usually do similar meet ups, it could be worth asking?Albus (he/him)

I went to Board Game meetup tonight. The councils could certainly have community places in their buildings to allow those kind of things.

I love board game groups. Especially if they have some really good board games like Catan or Pandemic. I'll settle for chess or draughts though.They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with
