They'll help keep the bugs away from my lunch  :D

We've got a few of the same type of light, they're still going from last year, cracking value. :)

That maple is stunning @Beaver79 we used to have one in the old garden, but it was too deep rooted to move. Such a shame as it was getting about 6ft tall. I love red leaves.

Could anyone kindly help identify this plant?
I bought if from Home Bargains a couple of years ago. It was one of those you buy that start off like a stick. For the last couple of years it really didn't do anything, but this year it's really started growing. There doesn't appear to be any flowers, buds or fruit on it.
I'm really bad at planting and growing things but not labelling anything.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    @Beaver79 , no, there's nothing on it,

I've got another plant/tree/shrub Infront of it ( don't know what that is either ) that has little flowering buds that open into dainty white flowers (see below) (is that Dogwood?)

and a blueberry (or some sort of berry) behind it.
I don't know what to expect from the mystery plant?

I'm going to show off my giant echium, I'm super proud of it!!

    The bees absolutely love it.

It's the only one that survived the winter, but I've left the others in the ground because the birds perch on them and I think they add a bit of interest and have insects.
I can't believe these things grew from a seed the size of a pin head!
I found some more left over seeds of these which I sowed and hopefully will have another 5-6 on the go this year.
And my Honesty plants are flowering and starting to turn to seed. I can see the seeds inside the round pod things. I think I'm meant to wait until they dry out and get them just before they pop.

Thankfully most of the garden is full of perennials, but I still couldn't resist sowing just a few more plants this year. As usual, I haven't labelled them correctly 🤣

@michael57 the bees certainly do love it! I did originally grow 6 of them, pampered them and done my best with them. The bad weather killed the others. It's taken 2-3 years for this one to bloom. It just started taking off and is growing taller and taller! I grow the smaller ones for the bees as well. Someone down the road keeps bees, so they must have a good supply of honey 👍

I'm happy! Years ago we had mullein in the garden and the other day I was looking out of the window and it looks as if there's one coming up. I thought we'd lost them years ago.

But does anyone know if they're biannual? Biennial? I mean one or the other😁. I'd got it in the back of my mind that they are but am probably wrong

Many thanks Michael. I looked at it the other day and realised it's not a mullein after all. It's a foxglove, a lovely self sow. I feel extremely sheepish!😁. Only thing I can say in my defence is, and I've probably said before ,I can't get into my garden now so from a distance it did look like a mullein. Different leaves.... Different colour flowers.... But apart from that, identical!😄😄

@birdwatcher My plant identification skills are really bad, terrible in fact.

I've been tendering to a plant for weeks which started growing back in one of my pots, convinced it was some perennial I hadn't labeled. It is a weed. A very healthy robust weed now!

I love foxgloves! I've had them grow in the front garden with my scatter and hope for the best approach. It's a nice surprise to see what colour they are when they open.

haha a weed is only a weed if you dont want it in your garden a garden without a few is not a natural garden in my opinion

That reminds me of many many years ago I had this bright idea that I was going to try and grow an orchid from seed. The pot sat in the greenhouse, all cossetted and nurtured. And then a little green shoot appeared.... All lovely, healthy and growing well. I was so proud of myself! Till I realised it a blade of grass! 😄
