How Does our Garden Grow?

I haven't planted anything this year yet. I want to, but depression's making it hard. I'm in a cold area of the States, so I don't think it's too late to start some herbs or flowers.

most herbs will cope with a colder climate no problem plant a lot of different coloured echinacea for colour and a very good natural remedy for colds

Prepare yourselves, I'm about to reveal my Mooli radish harvest.....
๐๐ And to clarify, that is my hand digger NOT a spade. ๐ To be fair, I grow them to help break the clay but sometimes I have a belief that I'm going to be feasting on some exotic radish dish. ๐ Not tonight!!

Garden update from me.
5 of the pumpkin seeds have sprouted and are now in a bice sunny spot with a couple of baby lupin and sunflowers. The strawberries and chillis are really taking off now too. Alas the courgette seedlings all got eaten overnight, so I'll be planting some indoors.
Unfortunately, the pigeons decided to trample over many of my lovely carnivorous plants, so I've had to erect an anti pigeon barrier to save the rest of them. ๐1 -
ah the joys of the garden we all suffer from the birds they do more good than harm tho so we let them have what they want hungry has to be fed and its nesting time i love it when the pigeons bring there young to the bird bath

We have scaffolding up currently, so the pigeons have all been very confused bless them. Though we've noticed a young pigeon who (after much research) is part feral pigeon, part Iranian pigeon, he's very cool looking.
And we had our friend "Shouty Ron" the robin come into our front room earlier in the week, so they're slowly moving in. ๐1 -
I'm totally ok with them coming inside the house @Beaver79 as long as they wipe their feet first. ๐

Just been looking at the plants in the garden. Some of the new ones are really taking off. My rose bush has got taller with lots of red roses on. The grass needs cutting again was only done last week

@Teigr is that a type of clematis? It's really nice! @Albus_Scope I've been given a couple of long plastic troughs, 6ft x 1 ft and about 10 inches deep. You've made me want some sort of bog garden so I'm going to look into it. At the moment I've shoved some reed plants I kept growing in it after a self made 'nature pond' I had got eaten by the dog. (The dog ate the lining after he got fed up sitting in it to cool down) But I still get toads and frogs in the garden๐
The only veg I'm doing this year are tomatoes. Had a few mange tout which the sparrows stripped but I don't mind.
@michael57 it is wonderful to see all the young birds arriving, flapping to be fed. I've had the magpie do what they do to some of the young birds, but although it's upsetting, they have their own young to feed. I've one particular large magpie I've nicknamed Orca. The jackdaw must has a lookout permanently on patrol because as soon as I go out there he calls for his 50 odd mates and a pair of Rooks that all turn up!! I have to sit the dog out there so the sparrows and robin have a chance! But the dog loves the bird suet ๐
Have a lovely evening everyone. I've been sat outside tonight for a while, but I'm sure the fox is waiting for me to go to bed so he can get back on the sun lounger with his mate and play seasaw with it like they did 5am this morning ๐๐

I had to Google that @Teigr Wow! That's a stunning looking plant !
Can we talk about snails. I have an abundance of them! Big ones, little ones, all over the place!! I always thought the birds ate them but they definitely aren't interested in the ones I've got! Now my neighbour has suggested that, if I soak them in water for a couple of hours, you can eat them ๐คฎ๐คฎ๐คฎ Absolutely no chance here!! Wandered if anyone had actually done this or even considered this?
