    First thing you should do is take a look at the descriptors to see which you think applies to you.

    https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/universal-credit-uc/uc-faq/limited-capability-for-work-related-activity

    Then the first step is to request the Mandatory Reconsideration. (MR) You can do that on your journal and you need to state which descriptor you think applies to you and your reasons why.

    If the MR doesn't change the decision you can then proceed to Tribunal.

    Hi Emily ,sorry yes I acknowledge this but I disagree with the decision I have explained on the form and on the phone call that I have limited capability for work related activities looking into the descriptors now I have explained that I am unable to cope with change in a work place due to my anxiety mental disorder I don't cope with social engagement because of significant stress experienced in a work place environment which would then cause me to have aggressive moods when I have panic attacks which would be unreasonable in any work place. I want to understand how this decision was made and why please? Thank you.

    Only one of those descriptors needs to apply. Unfortunately, I won't be able to advise you what you should write because I don't know how your conditions affect you. What you need to do is concentrate on the reasons why you think that descriptor applies to you.

    Remember, you've already been found to have LCW so you're not expected to work or look for work. It's the work related activity that you're expected to do, such as attend work focused interviews, depending on what your commitments are. Try to concentrate on that and not your reasons for being unable to actually work.

    I have got this message this morning any advice on what to say ? Do I give a example on something that's happend in work before and why I can't work ? Do I get a letter from the doctor is that necessary??

    Tell us if you have more evidence about your health.

    Did you explain fully what actually happens when you do go out or what happens if you're in that situation? If you just told them it causes you severe anxiety and aggressive behaviour then that's not enough of information.

    Explain real life situations of what's actually happened in the past. What they are looking for is what a typical day is like for you. It's not about working because you do not have work and you don't have to look for work, which is what LCW is. LCWRA is also about work related activity such as attending appointments to prepare to work sometime in the future.

    You can ask on your journal for a copy of the assessment report, there will be details on that why those recommendations were made.

    @poppy123456 yeah I have asked for that they said sending out in post. . So would I give examples of my daily life ?

    Yes, real world examples and explain in as much detail as you can. Make sure you stick to the descriptors that you think apply, although only one needs to apply for LCWRA.

    @poppy123456

    Claimant notes

    I would like to request a mandatory reconsideration of the decision of LWC I believe that there has been a underestimation degree of my mental disability and and of the extent of my problems and difficulties on a daily basis living with severe health and generalised /social anxiety and depression i have relayed this through my assessment. . i believe i have been put into the wrong group. On a daily basis i cannot cope with change, i will have panic attacks feel to overwhelmed with severe anxiety and panic attacks and depressive mood swings which causes aggressive behaviour towards people which is worse when faced with going out or anything involving social engagement. i suffer from acrophobia also which means it causes me to have fainting episodes panic attacks . i don't trust my Behaviour around others, I can tense up, easily irritable and uncontrollable outbursts of anger towards people when I become scared anxious and worry I do the same routine daily i don't leave the house . I have explained that I am unable to cope with change in a work place or even to leave the house due to my anxiety mental disorder I don't cope with social engagement because of significant stress experienced in any environment which would then cause me to have aggressive moods when I have panic attacks it can lead too fainting episodes which would be unreasonable in any work place or public area on a day to day basis I'm terrified to just walk out my front door my days are significtly distressing i would not be able to attend any work focused interviews If being forced to travel places - to the Jobcentre, to work - i can barely control my anxiety daily at home i would not be able to concentrate on visual work (including work-related activity such as courses) it would cause substantial stress. i am having trouble sleeping i barely have a couple hours a day i suffer from night terrors from finding my father dead i left my cooker on the other week and fell asleep in the back garden chair and didn't realise i left the hob on which caused me severe stress of what could of happened. kind regards .

    Do you think that sounds ok?

    I would refrain from using the words "it can lead to" you need to be more specific of exactly what happens.

    You need to think of the substantial risks to you or other people if you are to carry out a work-related activity such as attending appointments. This will be looked into even if you don't score 15 points in any description.
