Hello @triskele. Have you received your first statement or are you at the submitting your claim stage?

we submitted everything on the 6th . Then got an email as a warning that a notification has seriously impacted your UC claim. Transpires it was the Carers allowance .
0 -
That sounds correct, Carer's Allowance is deducted from your total UC award. Did you receive any other benefits or just WTC?
0 -
just WTC with severe disablement fir myself . Pip for me & my husband .

because they deduct the carers allowance it has made our income much less than it was . So it’s not the same as they implied it would be .

You should then receive transitional protection bringing your total income to the same as what you were receiving on WTC @triskele. Have you reported being carers to UC when applying?
0 -
yes I told them we were carers but they said it was a deduction . I have heard nothing about transition protection from them

Carers allowance is deducted in full, you need to make sure that your UC also includes carers element. Can you please confirm if you've had your first statement yet?
