Backdated money
Hey I was wondering if someone could help me,
On the 19/11/24 I received a message in my UC journal with a letter to tell me I have been accepted for LCWRA and if I am owed any backdated money they would let me know.
I started handing in sick notes in on the 9/08/2024 and have not missed a gap since, so I was just wondering if I would be entitled to any backdated money? And when would I usually get this?
I also got my UC statement 2 days ago dated 20th October -19th November. Nothing has changed on this and I’m still going to get paid on the 26th of this month my normal amount. So I was just also wondering when my LCWRA payments will start.
Many thanks

There is a waiting period of 3 full assessment periods before LCWRA is added to your payment. During that time no additional money is payable.
Your timeline is:
August/September AP: Fit note provided *partial AP not counted for waiting period *
September/October: AP 1
October /November: AP 2
November/December: AP 3
December/January: Eligible for LCWRA element.
26th January: First LCWRA element paid
No backpay owed.

Thank you so much for this!
I was just slightly confused because an agent in my journal had said this to me.Which completely baffled my head as I’m not sure what she meant.

She means the UC system has applied the waiting period to your claim.
And when that waiting period has ended, LCWRA will be added to your payment.
Although my advice is correct, it's three full assessment periods rather than 3 months.
