I am 18 years old and I was diagnosed with autism a few months ago. I am starting to try to navigate adulthood while managing my autism, but it is still very new to me and my family. I am hoping to find an online community where I can ask and maybe answer questions, and build community.

Heya @ainsleykate and welcome to the community from me too. 😊

I'm also late diagnosed autistic, so I can understand how confusing things can get right now. I've written a few pieces that may be helpful over in our Autism and neurodiversity category. But feel free to ask away with any questions you have, there's lots of us on the spectrum here, so you're amongst friends. ❤️

Happy New Year ainsleykate and welcome to the Scope forum 🤩

I'm late-diagnosed too though much older than you and it's a heck of a shock! I've found people of all ages on this forum I can relate to and so will you.

Navigating adulthood takes a lifetime (just ask michael57) but you are clearly on the right path. It's wonderful to know you have family support and you're embracing this diagnosis. I wish I'd known at 18 and developed strategies for coping but I didn't.

We have a lot of strengths and skills to employ once we know what these are.
