Hi my name is Danny I'm new to the forum

I'm looking for help with my situation I suffer with anxiety, depression , PTSD

I was already claiming universal credit and working but I had a break down and my condition has worsened to the point I can't bare to step foot outside mix with anyone personal hygiene is at a all time low I lost 2.5 stone in a matter of months I've lost teeth my life is a mess to be fair I've had my wca and I've been awarded LCWRA but I've had no further correspondence from the dwp no payment dates or anything I'm currently in a lot of debt and have bailifs at my door on a weekly basis which makes my mental state worse ill give a timeline the best i can of my lcwra journey to see if anyone can assist me.

first fit note was declared on the 30/08/2024 to 30/10/2024

Second Fit note was declared on the 31/10/2024 to 31/12/2024

WCA telephone assessment 11/12/2024

LCWRA awarded 19/12/2024 via a journal message

No further correspondence since and I'm totaly in the dark i feel I can't talk to the dwp for fear they will judge me unfairly

    What date do you usually receive your money each month?

    The waiting period for the extra money is 3 full assessment periods, it's then paid from the 4th month after you provided your first fit note. It's then paid from the end of that 4th month. LCWRA element isn't paid at all during the waiting period.

    My UC payments are the 6th of every month so I've had Jan's payment for UC

    Your waiting period will be Aug/Sept. Sept/Oct, Oct/Nov.. LCWRA element starts from Nov 30th to 29th Dec. and first payment should have been 6th January 2025.

    If this element was included in your payment for this month then that's correct. No LCWRA element is owed.

    If it wasn't included then based on the information you gave you will be owed for this month.

    Please note my advice assumes you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim.

    If your UC included any Transitional Protection (TP) then this will erode by the additional element so whether you're better off will depend on how much your TP was. If it was more than £416.19 then you will not be any better off.

    NNo I'm the only person with a disibility and my UC statement doesn't have anything about LCWRA on it I don't know what (TP) is to answer that part of your response

    If your UC included Transitional Protection (TP) you would know because it would tell you on your statements.

    As the LCWRA element wasn't included in this months statement then you are owed money for the assessment period Nov/Dec.

    Put a message onto your journal under the payment section and ask about the LCWRA element that you're owed. Hopefully someone will respond to you.

    Should I have received some sort of letter in the post to inform me of any changes in payments etc regarding lcwra

    No, nothing comes through the post for UC, any letters are added electronically to your Journal.

    The decision letters for the work capability assessment are standard letters, they do not give any information about any potential money being owed to you or when the extra money is paid from.

    They don't usually inform you when it's paid from, they usually just include in your next statement when payment is due.

    If any money is owed once your statement/s have been recalculated you would then receive a letter on your journal telling you how much is owed. It's then paid into your bank.
